What Changed in Android 16
Google’s update made Quick Settings less fixed and more adaptable. Tiles can shrink into tiny 1×1 icons or stretch into larger 2×2 blocks. A built-in editor lets you drag, drop, and arrange them as you like. Core tools such as Wi-Fi or Bluetooth also gained faster toggles, so one tap does the job. These small details make everyday navigation smoother.
Why Xiaomi Is Likely to Follow
Xiaomi has a long record of borrowing what works. Its software blends pieces of iOS and Android, aiming to offer the best of both. Apple lets users adjust Control Center, and Google just added similar controls. Since HyperOS 3.1 runs on top of Android 16, the base code is already there. Adding customizable tiles is not only possible but also expected.

What It Could Mean for Users
Another improvement is also in the works. Some owners of HyperOS 3.0 reported that the Control Center freezes at times. Xiaomi is said to be fixing this issue in version 3.1. With smoother performance and new customization, the update would feel more like a true step forward than a minor refresh.
When to Expect It
Xiaomi has not given a launch date yet. Looking at past releases, October 2025 seems likely for the Chinese market. Global rollouts would then follow in the weeks after. When the update lands, the customizable Quick Settings panel is expected to be one of the headline features.
